Hit The Road

This time of year, the sun has a shorter work day.  Leaves are falling from the trees.  The overnight lows are falling into the 30s.  As I type from Peet’s Coffee at Hunt Valley Towne Centre, I can see an ominous bank of wintry clouds overhead.  The outdoor table umbrellas are flapping in the wind.  Old Man Winter is clearly ‘warming up’ backstage.

For the goodness of our community’s antique cars, classic cars and modern (non-AWD) sports cars, we have yet to see the first snowfall…and the dreaded first application of road salt.  The afternoons may break into the 60s but a hint of winter begins to creep into the 7-day forecast. 

Resist the temptation to dive into automotive hibernation.  Cling onto fall and the opportunities to cruise your local scenic byways.  As Ferris Bueller said, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”  We’re all busy.  As life approaches the holidays, our lives only involve more ‘busy’.  Prioritize!  We all need some quality time with our automobiles…and of course, the family as well.  Bring them together and make some quality memories.

We’re lucky to have some of the most beautiful drives right in our backyard.  Make it a date to check out the horses, to visit the winery or maybe to pick up a pumpkin pie from the farm.  It’ll give you time to tighten the bond with your automobile and your loved ones.  Set the schedule and make it happen while Old Man Winter permits!
